Girls Leading our World (GLOW) camp!

July 9- July 13: Peace Corps Nepal in collaboration with Empowering Women of Nepal (EWN) organized a 5 day’s Girls Leading Our World (GLOW) camp for 36 young girls and 9 female chaperons from Syangja, Parbat and Baglung districts.

An enjoyable time was had by all whilst they learned, discussed and explored issues  around women’s health, gender roles & challenges, leadership & life skills, volunteerism and much more.

On behalf of EWN, I would like to thank Peace Corps Nepal 199 team for their collaboration, financial support, commitment and enthusiasm to this project. I would also like to thank EWN Goal staff for their hard work and ongoing commitment to girls empowerment in Nepal. Additionally, we want to thank our guest speakers (all women) for sharing their experiences and insights about their work and for inspiring the girls to dream big!

Finally, I want to thank all the participants who enthusiastically contributed.  We hope that the knowledge and information gained from this course will encourage them to achieve their dreams in life and help them be active citizens of Nepal.

Two quotes from the participants:

“Camp GLOW for me was all about knowledge and fun.”

“We are confident that Camp GLOW will be an initiative to start positive changes not only among us but to our community and our nation as a whole.”
