About

Welcome (Namaste) !

Empowering Women of Nepal (EWN) is a local non-profit company, based in Pokhara, which aims to improve the lives of Nepali women and girls through adventure tourism and sports. It was founded by three Nepali sisters, Lucky, Dicky and Nicky3 Sisters Chhetri, who were pioneers in the promotion of female trekking guides in the Himalayas, and was registered in 1999 under Nepal’s Social Organization Act 2034.

The Chhetri sisters also founded 3 Sisters Adventure Trekking to work in partnership with EWN in promoting and empowering women and girls through adventure tourism and sports. Together, we offer practical skill-based training programs free of cost to the trainees. The training is designed to extend educational, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities to disadvantaged women from all over Nepal, and can be followed by a six-month paid apprenticeship scheme.

Do you have an earthquake response section? We have been approached for fundraising for helping victims of the earthquake, for toilets and school reconstruction. I’m just verifying this with EWN, that the funds will go to this purpose. Thank you.

Thank you for your kind message. As part of EWN”s earthquake relief efforts we have worked with over 25 schools in the Kaski district. We will be happy to work with you on the school reconstruction project. 100% of the funds will go towards the proposed project.
      Kind regards,
      EWN Team

  5. I salute your fabulous work towards women living in Nepal 🙂
It is very important to make women and young girls feeling proud of themselves , it is a way to build and develop trust in them so as they can move forward in their lives. Today’s women are no more followers they are becoming leaders and I’m very impressed about the way you are empowering women through tourism. it’s high time for women to stand up and to take upon their rights,. We all ask for greater gender solidarity , with respects, and I think your project will contribute for a better Nepal where women will acquire a better standard of living . I am a third year student and I am very new to the blogger world . My blog though talk about the emancipation of women in my country which is Mauritius, however i would be very glad if we can share information about this two countries.it might help , especially raise awareness for your organization . I wish you all the best for your project and keep the good work 🙂
